Changelog

Product updates

A record of what shipped in Sumboard, release by release.

July 2026

Major table upgrades

Infinite scroll, configurable rows per page, and pagination that only appears when needed. Tables can now auto-fit their height to content, with a setting to control whether they're allowed to expand. Added in-table search and a hover indicator for sortable columns.

Export enhancements

Faster PDF and Excel exports, a new CSV export option for individual charts, and PDF exports that keep the same column sort order as the live table.

Scheduled reports overhaul

Legacy API scheduling is now optional — enable or disable it from Settings depending on your needs. Scheduled emails also support dynamic variables in the subject and body, and the email templates were redesigned.

Pivot table improvements

Dynamic column widths and better performance with large datasets.

Also improved

  • Continued refinements to chart legends

Also fixed

  • Scheduled reports getting stuck and blocking future runs
  • Dashboards freezing under certain conditions
  • Mismatched comparison values between tables and Excel exports
  • Various PDF export rendering issues

May 2026

Chart legends and totals redesign

Line, bar, pie, and doughnut charts can now show totals and percentages directly in their legends, refined over several iterations.

Query and export streaming

Backend improvements to stream query results progressively and improve performance on large exports, plus caching so chart style changes no longer trigger unnecessary reloads.

Export customization

Export file names for Excel and PDF can now be customized in Settings, including dynamic variables.

Also fixed

  • Pivot tables freezing with large datasets
  • Recurring issues with the compare feature
  • Tightened server error messages for better security

February 2026

Calendar filter overhaul

Reworked the calendar filter, covering relative date ranges, comparisons, and timezone handling.

Localization consistency

Continued work on date, time, and locale formatting across the app, including independent formatting for DateTime fields.

Also improved

  • A better mobile experience for the calendar and table layout
  • Automatic hiding of empty tables
  • General usability refinements

Also fixed

  • Broken PDF and Excel exports, including for newly created organizations
  • Issues inviting users and creating new dashboards

January 2026

AI-assisted SQL editor

Added an AI assistant to the SQL editor to help write and refine queries.

Locale, timezone, and language flexibility

More flexible controls for configuring locale, timezone, and language in the app. You can set them on the Organization, Dashboard and for each Tenant in runtime.

Also improved

  • A tree view for browsing database tables in the Query Editor
  • Improved display of Date on the x-axis
  • A toggle to hide zero values in tables
  • Thousand-separator number formatting
